You ever think about how soft serve is made?
This VR stop motion piece done in collaboration with Hugo Shiboski (lil Shibo). Each frame was sculpted individually in VR using Oculus Medium, and stitched together in Cinema 4D with some additional post fx added in After Effects.
The music and sound design were done almost entirely on a modular eurorack system. Other sound effects were recorded at home with a field recording kit.
If love is the recognition of oneself in another then perhaps we are mirrors of each other. Weaving together the selected stories of 5 individuals from 3 different countries, this film explores the universal experience of love by this definition. Each individual offers a unique perspective on the topics of love, loss, and identity, as they share and reimagine scenes from their romantic past.
Blurring the lines between fiction & reality, “Mirrors” explores the bounds between you and me, self and other, and ultimately probes the question: does life imitate art or does art imitate life?
An animation piece done for an art installation entitled ‘Palaver II‘ by Goodboy William (Will Wharton) in collaboration with Hugo Shiboski.
Animations were all sculpted, positioned and animated in VR with Quill. Frames were assembled in Cinema 4D and rendered with Octane.
All sounds/music recorded from a modular eurorack system.
Short film directed by Doug Werby, featured at the Wildsound 2020 Under 5min Film Festival.
